Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026 · Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
1. Our Privacy Commitment
Britt's English Club ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. We operate in Melbourne, Victoria, and handle personal data in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We collect only what is strictly necessary to deliver 1:1 English coaching, coordinate your schedule, and support your fluency journey. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
2. Information We Collect
- Account Holder & Learner Details: Name and email address of the adult account holder. Where an adult parent or guardian registers on behalf of a teenager (aged 13–17), we record the learner's preferred first name and age bracket (13–14 or 15–17) with the guardian's explicit consent. We never collect government identity documents, tax file numbers, or exact birth dates.
- Mentoring & Learning Records: Session timestamps, pedagogical feedback notes, vocabulary lists, and practice drills prepared specifically for your progress.
- Booking & Scheduling Data: Scheduled meeting slots, timezone preferences, and calendar synchronization identifiers.
- Transaction History: Mentoring package purchased, session credit allocations, and currency amounts. Payment card details are handled externally by Stripe.
3. Absence of Audio/Video Recording & Educational Technology
We do not record, store, or transcribe the audio or video of your mentoring sessions. Sessions take place live on Google Meet. Neither automated AI transcription bots nor surveillance tools are employed during your calls, ensuring a safe, relaxed, and judgment-free speaking environment.
To help prepare high-quality, personalized homework drills and polish written feedback notes, Britt may utilize secure cloud-based educational software and pedagogical assistance tools. These tools process only text-based lesson notes, never capture voice or video, and do not retain student data for training public AI models.
4. Payment Processing & Financial Security
All payment transactions are processed directly by Stripe, Inc., a certified PCI-DSS Level 1 Service Provider. We never see, receive, or store your credit card numbers or CVV codes on our servers.
5. Trusted Infrastructure Providers & Cross-Border Transfers
To provide a secure and reliable platform, we work with specialized service providers who process data strictly under confidentiality and security agreements:
- Cloudflare: Application hosting, edge delivery, and privacy-first web performance monitoring.
- Supabase: Encrypted cloud database and authentication services enforcing Row-Level Security (RLS) controls.
- Cal.com & Google Meet: Automated calendar booking and encrypted video conferencing rooms for 1:1 sessions.
- Resend: Secure delivery of transactional booking notifications, session reminders, and homework assignments.
- YouTube / Google: Embedded playable video drills within the student practice studio, subject to YouTube's standard player terms.
6. Representation of Teen Learners (13–17)
Britt's English Club welcomes teenagers aged 13 to 17 under the representation of a parent or legal guardian. The account holder and contracting party must always be an adult. Guardians retain authority over purchases, schedule changes, and communications. We do not provide autonomous accounts for minors or accept learners under 13 years of age.
7. Cookies & Tracking
We use strictly essential first-party session cookies required for authentication and security. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, invasive session replay recording scripts, or behavioral tracking networks.
8. Access, Corrections, and Contact
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information held about you or your represented student, subject to statutory retention obligations (e.g. accounting and tax records).
